Our 100% grass-fed beef cattle program grew out of our experience raising healthy, pastured animals. We believe that pasture-raised animals are a better choice for our farm, our animals, your dinner plate, and for you.


We sell beef by the piece at the farm stand year round.  



All beef is from two-year-old steers that were born and raised at Garden Meadow Farm.  The steers were raised on pasture with their mother for the first six months, then weaned and fed only forages of perennial grasses, annual grasses, and legumes.  They were also provided supplemental minerals to maintain their health.  All of these steers have been healthy and none have ever received any antibiotics.  The steers have been certified by the US Department of Agriculture as Grass Fed Beef Cattle.

Bulk beef is sold by the quarter and eighth and includes a wide selection of standard meat cuts.  The packages contain both front and rear cuts of the beef carcass.  Cuts are boneless with steaks approximately 1 inch thick.  The weight of packaged meat from one quarter of the steer is expected to be between 100 and 120 pounds. Eighth packs are typically around 50 pounds.  All meat is packaged in vacuum sealed bags and flash frozen.

An eighth contains about 20-25 pounds of ground beef, 10-12 pounds of steaks, and 8-10 pounds of roasts.

All beef slaughter and processing is done under USDA inspection.  All storage is inspected and approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
